Inktober

Inktober is a yearly ink drawing event, taking place in October. This year is the third time I am participating. My goodness, haha. It is tough, because there is barely any time to come up with ideas, or fully work out a drawing. On to the next. I don’t use tracing and working figuratively is not part of my routine. I am forgetting about the fundamentals and look like a fool! But that is also what makes it interesting. So I dive in and draw my socks off 😆 This year I’ve decided to stick to one material, the ballpoint pen. Oh, and I doubled the size. Why do I do that 😭? Anyhow, some things come out really well and some not at all and that’s okay.

Big part of the fun is social media and meeting other artists that are going through the same process. I am no longer active on Twitter and Instagram, but BlueSky, Cara and Pixelfed are decent alternatives to connect. Do I see you there? I am less active on Pinterest and TikTok, but will share my drawings there too, so if you feel this urge to respond, please do so 🙏 Go check out other artists too with the hashtags #inktober or #inktober2025

Below are my drawings from 2024. Scroll further for those of 2019.

And as promised, below the inktober drawings from 2019 Here you go! They are of lower quality, but that is not the point. I clearly remember being in between houses, having long commutes and more than a fulltime job. The point is to do it anyway. I stick to that. Doing it anyway 😁
